Minutes of the Meeting, August 12, 2009 by acting secretary T. K. Bristoll

The meeting was opened at 2:00 PM by President Jim Stewart (KB2RLH). Those in
attendance were: Jim Stewart (KB2RLH), T.K. Bristoll (W2TKB), Rich Kelly
(W2RRK), Al Mongardi (K2EZK), and Adin Miller (N2WDV)
The minutes of the last meeting were read by Jim Stewart (KB2RLH) and
approved. These minutes were written by John Hampel (AB2IC) substituting as
secretary for Paul DeAndrea (WB2JOW)
Treasurers Report:

2 Meter - No Report
Adin Miller, (N2WDV) made a request that more people participate in the
Monday night CW HF Net. (7:00 PM on 3.545 MHz)
Old Business:
The 147.315 repeater has been repaired and is working well. Discussion
once again centered on old location vs. a new location. Antenna choices were
also discussed. It was also noted that the 146.955 was working better.

These numbers gave a total score of 2725 plus 480 bonus points
New Business:
Adin Miller, (N2WDV) received his usual letter requesting the
participation of the WRA in the October 10, 2009 American Cancer Society Fair.
The WRA plans to participate in the fair this year.
Adin Miller, (N2WDV) also proposed the addition of a pair of 2 meter
stations. His thoughts were that a closer “Hands On” Ham Radio
experience might be a way to
generate additional interest.
Delaware County Fair:
Richard Kelly (W2RRK) is searching for volunteers to assist in fair ground
parking for Camper City. They are to call him to
receive assignments.
Richard Kelly (W2RRK) received permission from Rich Bell to install any equipment on any tower located within Delaware County. Richard Kelly (W2RRK) brought in
4 topographical maps of various Delaware County tower locations that could be
candidates for new antenna locations. A lively discussion followed as
the potential for this windfall was realized.
Adin Miller, (N2WDV) announced that the estate of our late club member,
Horace Staley (KA2HDO) had presented the WRA with a check for $2,000.00. It
was given to the club treasurer, Al Mongardi (K2EZK) for deposit.
There was a discussion as how best to create some kind of a memorial for
Horace Staley (KA2HDO).
The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 PM by Jim Stewart (KB2RLH)
Refreshments were provided by Jim Stewart (KB2RLH) and William T Holland
(AA2RM), which were gratefully enjoyed by all 5 of us. BURP! Burp.
The next club meeting will be on September 13, 2009 at the Walton Fire House
at 2:00 PM. T. K. Bristoll (W2TKB) will be providing refreshments.
